British fashion designer Victoria Beckham has created a limited edition, matching t-shirt for adults and children, in support of World AIDS Day 2016.
Beckham is a UNAIDS global goodwill ambassador, and all profits from the sale of her T-shirts will go directly to support Born Free Africa's work on promoting the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT). The former Spice Girl commented 'I have recently returned from Kenya, where, in my role as a UNAIDS goodwill ambassador, I helped promote the START FREE, STAY FREE = AIDS FREE initiative. This is a global plan that aims to support the initial PMTCT process, and then progresses the education through to adolescents, talking directly to young men and women and encouraging them to continue on their path for an AIDS FREE FUTURE. We need to keep HIV & AIDS on the agenda, to lobby governments and health authorities and continue to raise awareness. If we do, then we have a real opportunity to eradicate HIV & AIDS for future generations'.
